Getting the Power Right
UV curing is basically a balancing act between wattage and wavelength. There’s no “one size fits all” here. We look at how fast your conveyor moves and what your ink chemistry looks like, and then we build around that. If you’re running a high-speed line, we crank up the wattage. Why? Because that ink needs to polymerize now, before the substrate slides right past the lamp head. But here is the catch: you have to keep an eye on your power draw. High-wattage tubes put a massive strain on your ballasts. I’ve seen too many shops buy oversized lamps and pair them with cheap, under-rated power supplies. They end up frying their electronics in a matter of months. It’s a nightmare. We make sure the electrical footprint matches what you already have in your shop so you don’t blow a fuse.
Fitting it Into Your Shop
We’re big on “drop-in” compatibility. You shouldn’t have to rebuild your entire machine just to add a new lamp. Whether you need a weird length or a specific mount, we design the hardware to fit the space you already have. No expensive chassis modifications, no headaches. To get the most light hitting the ink, we use high-purity quartz glass. It’s great because it lets the UV photons through and doesn’t waste energy as heat. Just a heads-up, though—quartz is fragile. If your shop floor is a bit chaotic with lots of vibrations or mechanical shocks, let us know. We can add reinforced housing or dampening mounts so your tubes don’t crack the first time something bumps into them.
