We build our standard mercury lamps at 120W/cm for a reason. It’s the “sweet spot.” It gives you enough punch to get the job done without burning out your tubes in a heartbeat. If you’re running a high-speed conveyor, you know the drill. You need those photoinitiators in your ink or coating to snap into place instantly. If they don’t, you get smudges. And smudges mean wasted material and a headache for you. These lamps stop that from happening. The nitty-gritty on the output Here is how it actually works. The lamp excites mercury vapor to throw out UVC and UVB radiation. At 120W/cm, that’s a lot of energy. To make sure none of that power gets trapped, we use high-purity quartz glass. It keeps the UV moving. But there’s a catch. All that energy creates a ton of heat. If your reflectors are dirty or pitted, you’re basically throwing money into the air. Instead of that power hitting your product, it just vanishes. Keep those reflectors clean. It makes a world of difference. Fitting them into your setup You shouldn’t have to rebuild your entire housing just to swap a bulb. We designed these to be simple drop-in replacements for standard UV ballasts. We also tweaked the electrode positions. Why? Because we wanted to cut down on “end-loss.” This pushes more of the actual energy into the center of the curing zone where it belongs.
